- If you have a credit/debit card, and know your pin number, you will be able to access cash at the best exchange rates.
- Water bottle
- Mosquito Spray
- One roll of toilet paper to keep in your bag as we travel in country – emergencies can happen.
- Camera – optional
- Photo album with pictures of your family, home, friends, etc.
- Sun Screen
- Normal toiletries but consider using travel bottles to save weight – you can also purchase items on-site if needed
- Towel and face towel
- Jacket- windbreaker/rain gear
- Bedding (pillow, sheet).
- Shoes- comfortable walking shoes, shower shoes, church shoes, sandals
- Dress Code
- Swim suit – women please bring a one piece suit if possible.
- Any academic study materials you are required to bring (ex. syllabus)
- Gifts – Cards are the best thing – you will want to write notes to those you meet. Pictures of yourself, post cards or anything small/cheap/but meaningful will be great.
- You may be asked to carry materials by GS-L for your host ministry. Each team member will be checking in one box with supplies and materials for our host family and their ministry.
This is key--if you pack it, then you carry it. Unless you receive permission to do otherwise, plan on packing in only one 50lb bag and 1 carry on.
